The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed sadness over the passing of Lydia Yilwatda, mother of its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda. She was 83 years old.
The National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, noted that the deceased was a devout Christian and leader, whose contributions to the growth of her Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) were immeasurable.
The party further described her as a humble, virtuous and compassionate woman, renowned and loved for her generosity and selfless service to her family, church and community.
“Mama’s death is a colossal loss not only to her family, community, but the entire APC family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her immediate family, church, community, the government and the good people of Plateau State at this difficult time. May Mama’s gentle soul find eternal rest in the Lord. Amen,” the ruling party stressed.
REACTING to the passing, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, sympathised with Prof. Yilwatda over the incident.
In a condolence message to the APC chairman, the governor described Mrs Yilwatda as a beloved mother whose death is a significant loss not only to her immediate family but also to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
