Insisting that former Governor Nasir el-Rufai has been dismissed from the party, the Kaduna State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has urged members to disregard claims by the ex-governor that its entire structure has collapsed into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The party, in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Adamu Idris, in Kaduna yesterday, described el-Rufai’s assertion as “spurious, misleading and politically mischievous.”
According to Idris, the SDP remains intact in Kaduna and has no plans to dissolve into the coalition led by the former governor.
The SDP chairman accused el-Rufai of attempting to sow confusion within the party for his own political gain.
He maintained that the party’s structures were “robust and functional across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.
ALSO, the ADC in Kaduna State refuted reports that the entire SDP structure in the state has collapsed into its fold under the influence of el-Rufai, Bashir Saidu, and Ja’afar Mohammed Sani.
In a statement signed by its state publicity secretary, Musa Idris, the ADC described the report as “false, baseless, and unknown to the leadership of our party in Kaduna State.”
The clarification came after a statement by one Mr. Darius Kurah, who identified himself as “Publicity Secretary of the Coalition.”
ADC, however, disowned him, stressing that Kurah is neither a member nor an official of the party, describing his claims as “political impersonation.”
