American gospel singers Naomi Raine Solomon and Chandler David Moore have announced their exit from Maverick City Music.
They made this known on Monday through posts on their social media pages, drawing reactions from fans across the world.
According to the singers, their decision came after years of growth and reflection. Both said they are stepping into new seasons while holding on to the foundation Maverick City gave them.
Naomi, who joined the collective in 2019, looked back on her journey with deep gratitude.
“What began as a small gathering of friends singing in a shed evolved into a worldwide movement of worship that changed my life in ways I never imagined.
“Being part of Mav truly changed me. I don’t regret a single thing, the highs, the lows, the lessons, all of it,” she wrote.
She explained that her time with the group taught her a lot about God, people and herself. Now, she feels led to take a new path.
“Every song I was part of came from a pure place, just me wanting to please God,” she explained. “I’m still writing, still singing, still worshiping and leading others, just on my own.”
She ended her message on a thankful note. “Grateful for that leg of my journey. Grateful for all that will come. Just grateful.”
For Chandler, known for his 2020 solo album Feelings, the decision was just as personal. Over the past two years, he said he has been focused on what truly matters in his life and career.
“These last two years I’ve been locked in on what really matters… in my life and in my career. “It’s been scary at times, but also full of fresh vision and real excitement about the future. With that, I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Maverick City Music,” he wrote.
He remembered the early days of the group and the sense of belonging it gave him.
“When we started Mav, I was grateful to have community while fulfilling my dream of making music that would help people experience God. And we did that…in ways I couldn’t have imagined.”
He closed with a short note of appreciation.“Thank you, Mav. Thank you, fans. Thank you, God.”
