Nigerian web hosting company, HoganHost, has officially launched a new FreeDNS service aimed at providing developers, businesses, and everyday internet users with reliable and cost-free DNS management tools.
The new FreeDNS platform allows users to manage their DNS records with ease and speed — at no cost. This initiative demonstrates HoganHost’s ongoing commitment to improving internet accessibility and innovation across Nigeria and Africa.
Joseph Effiok Hogan, Co-Founder and CEO of HoganHost, said: “Our goal has always been to make web technology simple, affordable, and accessible to everyone. The FreeDNS service is part of our mission to empower individuals, startups, and organisations with free yet powerful tools for online growth.”
Atim Hogan, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, added: “By offering FreeDNS, we’re helping more people build online projects without worrying about technical or financial barriers. It’s another step in HoganHost’s journey to support the digital future of Africa.”
HoganHost, founded by Joseph Effiok Hogan and Atim Hogan, continues to expand its lineup of web solutions — including domain registration, web hosting, reseller programs, and innovative tools designed for developers.
Recall that Nigeria’s HoganHost recently entered into a strategic partnership with global cloud provider DigitalOcean to roll out instant cloud hosting services across Africa beginning January 2026.
According to HoganHost, the move is aimed at ensuring African developers, startups, and enterprises gain direct access to high-performance cloud servers without depending solely on infrastructure located overseas.
The hosting company said the new service will allow for faster deployment and simplified management of websites, applications, and databases, leveraging DigitalOcean’s established infrastructure.
“Our mission is to bring enterprise-level hosting to Africa,” said Hogan, co-founder of HoganHost. Atim Hogan added that the collaboration “empowers African entrepreneurs with the technology needed to scale their businesses quickly and efficiently.”
Last month, Hogan, the tech entrepreneur behind HoganHost, declined an acquisition offer from HostAfrica, choosing instead to keep his fast-rising company independent as it pursues its vision of becoming Africa’s leading hosting provider.
The move comes after HostAfrica, a respected hosting company with a strong footprint across the continent, expressed interest in acquiring HoganHost. For Hogan, the bid was not only flattering but also a sign that HoganHost’s growth and impact in the Nigerian tech space are being recognised.
“When a company like HostAfrica shows interest, it’s a validation that we are doing something right,” Hogan said. “But from day one, our mission has been clear: to remain independent, to serve our customers with excellence, and to build Africa’s number one hosting powerhouse.”
