Several Nigerians, including Dr. Aleesha Kurbanali Adatia; Dr. Anita May Igoni; Dr. Jennifer Obiekwugo; Ronke Thaddeus; Christiana Asiedua-Asiedu; Babajide Guerrero and Maryann Okoroji, were among recipients honoured at tthe Achievers Awards International (AAI)/Under 40 Entrepreneurs Awards Conference 2025, held in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of entrepreneurs, humanitarians, creatives, and innovators from across Africa and beyond.
The annual awards ceremony and conference brought together outstanding personalities and emerging leaders who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. The event also featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions, all centered around the themes of innovation, leadership, wellness, and entrepreneurship as tools for economic growth.
Speaking during the ceremony, the organiser, Ambassador Dr. Joy Osusu, described the awards as a celebration of excellence, impact, creativity, and innovation.
“We’re proud to recognise and reward individuals who have made a significant impact in their industries. We believe their achievements will inspire others to strive for greatness,” she said.
Among the honorees were First Lady of the Republic of The Gambia and founder, Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation, H.E. Mrs. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow; Amb, Dr. Bunmi Obakoya; Amb. Daniel Ogidi; HRH Dr. Maryam Elisha; Hon. Donald Peterson; Amb. Dr. Bernardette Erommaose Nwokoro; Michelle Oduah; Chioma Annita; Dr. Phophi Ramabulana Azubuike; Olaronke Thaddeus; Christian Ochiaghaand many others.
The event also witnessed the launch of The Achievers Chronicles International, a magazine dedicated to celebrating entrepreneurship, innovation, and resilience.
According to the organisers, the publication aims to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs by spotlighting real-life stories of determination, creativity, and social impact.
“Through this magazine, we aim to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, to share stories of struggle and triumph, to connect dreamers with doers, and to create opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration,” Osusu said.
