Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has announced that Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, a former governor of Sokoto State, and former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) will be the lead speakers at its World Human Rights Day roundtable dialogue in Abuja.
Its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, while confirming the December 10 date for the event, explained that Wamakko would address the theme of human rights and selfless service in politics.
He is also to discuss the initiatives and projects he has implemented to promote human rights in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.
HURIWA also highlighted that Adoke would dissect his book, Burden of Service: Reminiscence of Nigeria’s former Attorney General and OPL 245, which delves into the legal issues surrounding OPL 245 involving the Nigerian government, Shell, and Malabu Oil at the programme.
The book aims to set the record straight on his involvement in the OPL 245 saga, providing a comprehensive account about the allegations against him, and his eventual vindication.
