Tunji-Ojo seeks support for Tinubu amid Ondo’s 50th anniversary
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed his commitment to governing with fairness, justice and inclusiveness, assuring residents that development will continue to reach every part of the state.

The governor gave the assurance during the state banquet held at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, as part of activities to mark the state’s 50th anniversary.

Abiodun said that Ogun State had grown steadily into Nigeria’s industrial capital, driven by consistent investments and strategic planning.

He said that his administration had prioritised human capital development, education, housing, road infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and sports, leading to what he described as unprecedented progress across the sectors.

In her remark, the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, commended the past administrations for laying strong foundations and thanked citizens for their continued trust in the current government.

Speaker of the House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, described Ogun State’s 50-year development journey as impressive, noting that the state has recorded remarkable transformation.

The Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, said the expansion of judicial divisions across the state had strengthened access to justice.

Former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said that Ogun State’s industrial strength and human resources had positioned it as one of Nigeria’s leading states.

Also speaking, Senator Sefiu Kaka, on behalf of former deputy governors, praised the consistency of leadership in the state and lauded the Abiodun administration for its commitment to sustainable development.

The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, applauded the transformation of Abeokuta and security improvements, urging the government to maintain the momentum.

MEANWHILE, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has appealed to the people of Ondo State to support President Bola Tinubu, saying that the administration’s bold reforms require continuity and national unity to fully mature.

Tunji-Ojo, who emphasised that the 2027 electoral cycle should be for consolidating the President’s agenda, urged the people of the state to remain united and patriotic, as well as committed to the collective progress of the state and the country.

The minister spoke while fielding questions from journalists at the Akure Airport, shortly after arriving in the state for the grand finale of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state’s creation.

According to the minister, the state’s Golden Jubilee anniversary is not only a moment of celebration but also a time for deep reflection on the journey so far, the sacrifices of past leaders, and the responsibility of citizens to support purposeful leadership at both the federal and state levels.
