As the 2027 general elections draw near, key stakeholders, including Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako, have called for sustained grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates across all levels.

Speaking at the 3rd Annual Ramadan Tafsir lecture organised by Caucus 7202 in Ogun State, Dr Salako praised the group for consistently promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, describing the caucus as a vital pillar supporting the political efforts of Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.

Delivering the keynote lecture titled “Governance and Our Responsibility to Civic Development: What Is My Role?”, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa, urged citizens to view political participation as a civic duty. He also prayed for divine guidance for the nation’s leadership, seeking success for the President’s economic reforms and his 2027 roadmap.
The event, held in Abeokuta on Monday, served as both a spiritual gathering and a political rallying point. Special prayers were offered for President Tinubu’s re-election, the senatorial ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the 2027 governorship aspiration of Senator Adeola.

The Director-General of Caucus 7202, Alhaji Moctar Olaseni Koiki, emphasised that the lecture series blends spiritual fortification with political strategy.

“Our primary objective is to strengthen the support base for our leaders—President Tinubu, Governor Abiodun, and Senator Adeola—as we approach the next electoral cycle,” Koiki said. “Through prayer and strategic engagement, we believe these ambitions will be realised, driving progress for Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.”
