Recovered arms

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 30-year-old Dare Shogaolu, also known as Super M, and recovered a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the state.

Operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), were on routine patrol along the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Road axis in Mushin, on March 5, 2026, about 10pm, when they accosted a suspicious-looking man carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag.

A search of the bag led to the recovery of one locally made pistol. Other items recovered from him include one black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.

Spokesperson for command, Abimbola Adebisi, said a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had been involved in criminal activities within the area and had allegedly been responsible for disturbances in the community.

“The suspect is in police custody while investigation is ongoing. Efforts are also being intensified to apprehend other members of his criminal group.

“The Lagos State Police Command hereby warns all troublemakers and their sponsors that it will not tolerate any act that can lead to the breach of the existing peace anywhere in the state. The full weight of the law will be applied to those arrested. Parents and guardians are hereby enjoined to prevail on their children and wards to desist forthwith from any act that threatens the safety of lives and property in the state.”

The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the command’s commitment to proactive policing and the safety of all residents of the state.
