Borno Police Command has commenced a comprehensive review of the security situations in border communities and black spot areas across the state.
According to the command, the strategic security meeting, comprising tactical commanders, was to enhance security vigilance in the identified black spot areas that threaten people’s lives and property.
The Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Nahum Daso, yesterday, in a statement in Maiduguri disclosed: “The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid has today, 13th February 2026, convened a strategic security meeting with tactical commanders, area commanders, and 27 Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state,” adding that the one-day meeting with them is to review the prevailing security situation by what he described as, “collectively reinforce the ongoing operational strategies in the border communities and other identified black spot areas in the state.”
While addressing the tactical commanding officers, Abdulmajid charged them to maintain heightened operational vigilance, professionalism, and sustained alertness in their respective areas of responsibility.
He emphasised the need for proactive policing, enhanced intelligence gathering, and effective deployment of personnel to forestall any threat to public safety.
The CP further directed the reinforcement of police formations, particularly the ones located in remote communities and Local Government Areas (LGAs), with additional logistics and operational resources to strengthen their capacity in safeguarding people’s lives and property.
As part of efforts to boost public confidence and deter criminal elements, the CP said: “The Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, would commence joint show-of-force operations to achieve enhanced visibility policing across strategic locations within the state.”
