FAM hails appointment of Idogun into APC convention committee

Olorogun Ovoke Idogun

As activities for the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention gather momentum, the National Coordinator of the Father Abraham Mandate (FAM), Olorogun Ovoke Idogun, will be among other top party stalwarts that will be welcoming party faithful to the event.

Idogun was appointed member of the Entertainment Committee for the convention scheduled to hold next week in Abuja.

In a statement by FAM, Idogun was quoted as saying he was highly honoured to be in the committee even as he described it as a call to service.

He said: “I am happy; I am honoured to be a member of our esteemed party, the APC National Convention Committee and I must say it is a call to service as we all join hands with the leader of our party, the father of the nation, our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our party chairman and his executive as well as leaders as we steer the ship of Nigeria to the desired destination of progress and renewed hope.

“Distinguished patriots, FAM welcomes you all to the Federal Capital Territory. We welcome distinguished APC stalwarts as we all meet to chart the course of positive infinite possibilities as we remain united for sustainable growth and development of Nigeria, positive Renewed Hope and indefatigable resilience.”

He said the convention will further solidify the bridge of “continuity, courage and progress as well as building the Nigeria of shared and assured prosperity. That is why we must all support our President for continuity.”

It would be recalled that seemingly impressed with the efforts of President Tinubu at turning the country around, which are currently yielding results, the Father Abraham Mandate for Asiwaju, since last year, decided to throw its weight behind his 2027 re-election bid.

The Father Abraham Mandate is a civic awareness and policy-support platform. Its focus is on promoting public understanding of governance, reforms, and leadership direction in Nigeria, with calm and reasoned support for the Tinubu administration.

The core driving force of the FAM, according to Idogun, is credible, informed support.

“We believe patience, stability, and understanding of governance processes are more effective than emotional or confrontational messaging and that is why our vision is to support a Nigeria where citizens are better informed and more confident in governance and long-term national development. Our mission statement is to promote awareness and understanding of governance and policy reforms through calm communication, public sensitisation, and responsible engagement,” he explained.

He added that the group currently has about a million strong network and has reached out to the Renewed Hope and City Boy initiatives for collaboration.

“Yes, indeed, we have reached out to them (Renewed Hope and City Boy) and we are optimistic that we will all work together for the greater good as regards the 2027 re-election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We did collaborate in 2023 and we are confident we will work together again,” Idogun said.
