Bala Mohammed, supporters to dump PDP for ADC

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has said he would be leaving the “battered” Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he could play a “viable” opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mohammed made the announcement yesterday when he received an ADC delegation, led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, at the Government House, Bauchi.

The governor stated that he and his Oyo counterpart, Seyi Makinde, had championed reconciliation of the PDP, alleging that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, kept frustrating all efforts.

Mohammed said the National Chairman of ADC, David Mark, “has asked them (us) to come to me, to reconnect to me with the umbilical cord of the opposition, the one that I have always been. I said to him, as a leader of the PDP, I also discovered that there is still some bitterness while our party is headless.”
