Text: Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV): “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
In a world filled with confusion, pain, uncertainty and endless questions, humanity is constantly searching for answers. Men seek solutions in science, philosophy, wealth, relationships and personal achievements. Despitethese pursuits, the heart of man often remains restless and unsatisfied. There is a void that nothing in this world can truly fill it. That void was designed for God, and until man turns to Him, the search will continue in vain.
Our opening text is a divine invitation and a powerful assurance. God, Himself, speaks and says: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee…” This is not a suggestion; it is a promise from the Almighty. It reveals that God is not distant or indifferent to the struggles of man. He is near, ready and willing to respond. The truth is simple, yet profound: God is the answer to every need of man.
From the beginning, God has always been the answer. When He created man, He placed him in a perfect environment where every need was met. There was no lack, no sorrow, no confusion, but when sin entered into the world, it brought the separation of man from God, and with that separation came all the troubles we see today. Romans 5:12 (KJV) says: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin…” Since then, man has been trying to solve problems that only God can fix.
One of the greatest problems of man is sin, and God is the only answer to it. No amount of good works, moral living or religious activities can take away sin. Isaiah 64:6 (KJV) declares: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags…” This shows that human effort is insufficient. The solution to sin had to come from God, and it did—through Jesus Christ.
John 1:29 (KJV) says: “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Jesus Christ is God’s answer to the problem of sin. He came to reconcile man back to God. On the cross, He paid the price that we could not pay. Through His sacrifice, forgiveness is made available to all who believe.
Beyond sin, man faces many other challenges— fear, sickness, lack, confusion and uncertainty about the future. Yet, in every situation, God remains the answer. When fear grips the heart, God says in Isaiah 41:10 (KJV): “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God…” His presence brings courage and peace. When there is lack and need, God is the provider. Philippians 4:19 (KJV) assures us: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” This means that no matter how great the need may be, God is greater still.
When sickness and affliction arise, God is the healer. Exodus 15:26 (KJV) declares: “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” Medical conditions or human understanding do not limit God. His power is able to restore and make whole.
When confusion surrounds life and decisions become difficult, God is the source of wisdom. James 1:5 (KJV) says: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally…” God does not want His children to walk in darkness. He is ready to guide and direct those who seek Him.
Even in moments of deep sorrow and despair, God is the answer. Psalm 34:18 (KJV) says: “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart…” He draws near to comfort, to heal and to restore. No pain is too deep for God to reach.
The problem, however, is that many people look somewhere else before they look to God. They rely on their own understanding, their connections, their strength, and their resources. Proverbs 3:5 (KJV) warns us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Human understanding is limited, but God’s wisdom is infinite.
Some people turn to God only as a last resort, after all other options have failed. But God does not want to be an option; He wants to be the foundation. He is not just an answer among many—He is the only true answer.
The story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, illustrates this truth. The Bible says she had suffered many things from many physicians and had spent all that she had, yet she was not better; she grew worse (Mark 5:26 KJV). But the moment she encountered Jesus, her situation changed. One touch of faith brought healing that years of human effort could not produce. This is what happens when God becomes the answer.
Another example is found in 2 Chronicles 20, when King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were faced with a great multitude coming against them. In their helplessness, they turned to God in prayer and fasting. In verse 12 (KJV), they cried: “…neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” And God delivered them without them needing to fight the battle. When God is the answer, victory is assured.
It is important to understand that God’s answers may not always come in the way we expect, but they are always perfect. Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV) says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” Sometimes, what we see as delay is actually divine preparation. Sometimes, what feels like denial is God’s protection. His ways are higher and His plans are better.
To experience God as the answer, there must be a relationship with Him. God is not just a solution to problems; He is a Father who desires fellowship with His children. Through Jesus Christ, we are given access to this relationship. John 14:6 (KJV) says: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
When a man comes to God through Christ, he finds not only answers, but also peace, purpose and eternal life. The greatest answer God gives is not just to solve earthly problems, but also to the eternal destiny of the soul. 1 John 5:11-12 (KJV) declares: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”
Many are burdened today, carrying weights they were never meant to carry. Jesus invites such people in Matthew 11:28 (KJV): “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This is the heart of God—to give rest to the weary and hope to the hopeless.
But this invitation requires a response. It is not enough to hear that God is the answer; one must turn to Him in faith. One must call upon Him sincerely, as our opening text encourages. When you call upon God, He answers—not sometimes, but always, though in His own perfect way.
Perhaps you have been searching for answers in your life, and have tried different paths and solutions, yet the problem remains. Hear this truth today: God is the answer! He is not part of the answer, not one option among many; He is the only answer!
If your life is filled with sin, God is the answer through forgiveness in Christ. If your heart is troubled, God is the answer through His peace. If your path is uncertain, God is the answer through His guidance. If your soul is empty, God is the answer through His presence. Do not delay. Do not continue searching in places where true answers cannot be found. Turn to God today. Call upon Him. Surrender your life to Him and trust Him completely.
Isaiah 45:22 (KJV) says: “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” This is a clear declaration that there is no other answer outside of God.
In conclusion, life’s questions are many, but the answer is one. God is the answer to the deepest needs of man. He is the answer to sin, to sorrow, to fear, to lack and to eternal destiny. When you have God, you have the answer that satisfies both time and eternity.
Therefore, let your heart turn to Him today. Let your trust be in Him alone. And as you call upon Him, you will discover the truth of His promise: He will answer you and show you great and mighty things.
