The agrarian community of Oke-Igbo in Ile-Oluji Local Council of Ondo State is set for the coronation of the 18th Oluoke of Oke-Igbo, following years of legal battles and a protracted vacancy on the ancestral throne.
With the coronation central working group unveiling a weeklong lineup of activities between April 20 and April 26, 2026, Oba Felix Adeoye Akintoye will be installed as monarch of the kingdom.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Central Working Group, Moshood Ogunlowo, festivities will kick off with a football competition at the Oke-Igbo Grammar School Playing Field.
The statement stated that other activities lined up throughout the week will build momentum toward the grand finale slated for April 25, followed by a thanksgiving service on Sunday, April 26, 2026, which will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Oke-Igbo.
“The Special Guest of Honour for the historic occasion is Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
“Dignitaries from across the country, including traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the public, are expected to grace the ceremony,” Ogunlowo stated.
