The Nigeria Police Force and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ogun State have stepped up efforts to tackle drug abuse and trafficking through closer collaboration.
The renewed partnership followed a familiarisation visit by the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, to the NDLEA Ogun State Command, where he was received by the state commander, Tijani Rabbe.
The police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said in a statement that the visit aimed to strengthen synergy between the two agencies in combating drug-related crimes, with a focus on intelligence sharing, joint operations, and coordinated public sensitisation.
In recognition of his commitment to the fight against drug abuse, Ojajuni was decorated with the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassadorial Tag, highlighting his role in promoting a drug-free society.
Ojajuni thanked the NDLEA for the honour and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to deeper inter-agency cooperation in addressing substance abuse and related crimes.
