The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ogun have intensified efforts to jointly tackle drug abuse and trafficking in the state.
The collaboration between the two agencies was reached when the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni paid a familiarization visit to the office of the NDLEA, Ogun State Command, and was received by Commander Tijani Rabbe.
This was contained in a statement by the the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi and made available to newmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Babaseyi said that the visit was to sustained synergy and collaboration between both agencies in combating drug abuse and trafficking with emphasis on intelligence sharing, joint operations, and coordinated public sensitization.
He said that in recognition of his commitment to the fight against drug-related crimes, CP Ojajuni was decorated with the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassadorial Tag, signifying his role as an advocate in promoting a drug-free society.
However, Ojajuni thanked the NDLEA for the honour and reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in addressing the challenges of substance abuse and its attendant crimes.
