At elite EP party, Boysarm proves his next big thing

Sunday, April 12, 2026 would remain green in the mind of Oluwadamilare Samuel Akolade, popularly known as Boysarm, an emerging Afrobeats artiste, when he had his outdooring at the lush garden of the British Council, in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
It was an evening of top notch entertainment, as the promising artiste swayed to the rhythm of vibrant sounds, lively celebration and youthful energy of the Elite Party EP hosted to mark the official launch of his album. And the event couldn’t have been more definitive.

At the gig, Boysarm performed hit songs such as I go Lie for you, Oroma, Klosa (Berede) and the Elite Anthem to the delight of his friends and over 500-strong crowd of listeners from all walks of life, mostly, University of Lagos. Boysarm, a student of Linguistics and Yoruba at the University of Lagos held the audience bound with his urbane rhythm and finesse.

Signed to Lestat Entertainment, he proved that he was not just a singer, but a consummate artist, who the sky is his beginning.

Graced by high networth guests from the Nigerian entertainment, media, culture, fashion and related sectors, the event is part of the British Council Nigeria’s initiative to support the country’s creative sector, providing artists with complimentary access to its venue while creating opportunities for broader marketing exposure.

Speaking at the event, the representative of the British Council of Nigeria and the Head of Arts & Culture, Harry Kesiena, said that the programme was part of the British Council project that offers support for the creative sector, offering opportunities for young talented artists and exposing them to the United Kingdom market.

He noted that the initiative covers 17 different art forms. His words: “There are 17 different art forms, including visual art, entertainment, fashion, film and 3D animation that the British Council of Nigeria supports through this programme, and it was launched during the COVID-19, because we realised that post-COVID, it became very difficult for emerging artists to put together classic event like this, as a result of access to venue challenges. So for us at the British Council, across Nigeria, we decided to open up our venues for creatives to use for their events without any cost attached to it.”

Kesiena further emphasised on the initiative of the British Council programme, which provides supports to fashion stylist to gain new skills while exposing to the United Kingdom market and other parts of Nigeria, also included in the list is film, literature and Animation.

Speaking with the media after his show, Boysarm said the Elite Party offered “opportunity for fans to engage with his music.” While assuring fans of his music video that will be dropping very soon, he said, “The EliteParty is not just for the elite, but for lovers of good music.”

On his genre of music, he said it is Afrobeat, “but I blend it with other music. As a student, I combine my music with my studies by ensuring that one is not found wanting. I also want to use this opportunity to advise other undergraduate students to focus on their studies while discovering their talent on time particularly on campus.”
