PlaywithTomide partners OneDosh to boost cross-border transactions

Worried by the slow pace of financial transactions in Nigeria, gaming content creator, PlaywithTomide has partnered a cross-border payments platform, OneDosh, to provide more seamless payment solutions, while also taking an equity stake in the company.

The collaboration is designed to offer a more reliable and efficient way for users, particularly within the gaming community, to send, receive and spend money across borders without the delays often associated with traditional systems.

Co-founder of OneDosh, Babatunde Osinowo, said the decision to partner PlaywithTomide was driven not only by his wide reach but by his deep understanding of his audience’s needs.

“What stood out to us wasn’t just Tomide’s reach, but also how closely he understands his community. This partnership is about building something that works for them, not just promoting a product, but solving a real problem in how they pay and transact,” Osinowo said.

He noted that with one of the most engaged gaming communities in Nigeria, the initiative goes beyond conventional marketing strategies and instead focuses on practical, everyday solutions.

According to him, the rollout will prioritise direct integration into gaming content and live sessions, as well as community-led activations such as tournaments and challenges, aimed at driving real usage among users.

Osinowo explained that the goal is to embed the platform into the lifestyle of users, making it a natural part of how they interact, play and transact, rather than a separate tool they must consciously adopt.

He added that by taking an active role in the company, PlaywithTomide will help shape how OneDosh is introduced within his community, ensuring that the service remains intuitive, relevant and aligned with users’ everyday financial needs.
