The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has congratulated independent petroleum marketer, Otunba Salimon Oladiti, on his election as President of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the monarch described Oladiti’s emergence as “most welcome and heartwarming at this period in Nigeria’s history,” noting that his vast experience in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry positions him for effective leadership.
Oba Ladoja, who is also Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, said the new NUPENG president possesses the capacity to deliver purposeful direction for the union.
According to him, Oladiti, popularly known as SAO, is a focused and committed individual who has paid his dues and is well equipped to provide the leadership the union requires at this critical time.
According to a statement signed by Adeola Oloko, Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the monarch also commended the union for ensuring a smooth transition of leadership, describing the process as exemplary and worthy of emulation, particularly among political actors in the country.
He urged the new leadership to prioritise unity, professionalism, and the welfare of members, while contributing meaningfully to the stability of the nation’s petroleum sector.
