Academic City University has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming tertiary education in Africa through innovation, industry collaboration, and skills-driven learning during stakeholder engagement sessions held in Lagos and Abuja.

The university stressed the growing need for deeper continental collaboration to accelerate the transformation of higher education across Africa. According to the institution, stronger partnerships among countries, universities, and industry players are essential to building learning systems that reflect real-world demands and equip graduates with globally competitive skills.

The engagement sessions brought together policymakers, education leaders, industry experts, civil society organisations, parents, and prospective students to deliberate on strategies to reshape higher education and strengthen workforce readiness across the continent.

The initiative forms part of Academic City University’s broader vision to expand access to world-class STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and entrepreneurial education beyond Ghana.

Speaking at the event, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Academic City University, Dr Sena Agbodjah, said the institution was established to bridge the gap between academia and industry by embedding innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical problem-solving into learning.

“Academic City was established to challenge the traditional model of higher education by embedding innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world problem-solving into every aspect of learning. We believe Africa’s transformation depends on how well our universities can produce graduates who are not only employable but capable of creating opportunities,” she said.
