Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has submitted seven commissioner nominees to the Borno State House of Assembly for it’s confirmation for them to serve the people in the state.
Zulum dissolved the 22-member cabinet last month to enable them pursue their future endeavours, including the 2027 political aspirations in the country.
The submission of the commissioner nominees were made on Tuesday in Maiduguri, following an executive communication transmitted by the Governor to the Assembly.
Speaker of the House, Hon Abdulkarim Lawan, therefore announced the commissioner nominees at a plenary, where he formally read Zulum’s communication before members of the Borno State House of Assembly.
The seven commissioner nominees included Alhaji Sugun Mai Mele, Prof. UsmanTar, Hon. Saina Buba, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, Umar Lawan Dalorima, Prof. Baba Mallam Gana and Hon. Aliyu Mohammed Buba, who was an ex- commissioner of Transport and Energy.
The development forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Zulum administration to strengthen and sustain inclusive governance and enhance service delivery to the people.
The nominees are also expected to appear before the Assembly for screening and possible confirmation by the end of next week for their inauguration by the Governor.
