Ogun APC Primary Violence: Elegbeji Calls for Peace in Sagamu Wards

Supporters of Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji have condemned the violence that reportedly marred the All Progressives Congress (APC) MHR primary election process in Ward 10, Ogijo, and Ward 14, Agbowa, in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The supporters described the incidents as unfortunate and inconsistent with democratic principles, insisting that the electoral process should be conducted peacefully and without intimidation.

In a statement issued on Friday, the group said Ayoola-Elegbeji remained committed to peace, fairness and issue-based politics, warning against acts capable of undermining unity within the constituency.

Reacting to the incidents, Ayoola-Elegbeji said political ambition should never come at the expense of human lives or public peace.

She stressed that the Remo Federal Constituency had long been known for political maturity and peaceful coexistence, urging party faithful and stakeholders to embrace dialogue, tolerance and respect for democratic values as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.

The lawmaker also called on security agencies and party leaders to ensure fairness and adequate monitoring in subsequent exercises to prevent a recurrence of violence in Ogijo, Agbowa and other parts of Sagamu Local Government Area.

Despite the disturbances, her supporters reaffirmed confidence in her leadership, describing her as a promoter of responsible representation and progressive politics focused on the development of the Remo Federal Constituency.
Ayoola-Elegbeji, who assumed office on October 25, 2025 following her victory in the August 2025 bye-election, said she remains committed to delivering people-oriented representation for Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency.

She also pledged to sustain the legacy of the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga through continued service to the people.
