Kaduna Central APC aspirant, Shettima steps down from primaries

Former Kaduna Central Senatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, Yerima Shettima, has formally withdrawn from the race and pledged full support for candidates of the party,  including Senator Shehu Sani ahead of the general election.

Shettima announced his withdrawal on Sunday, saying the decision followed wide consultations and careful reflection on the Party chances to win the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the move was made in respect of the decision of the APC regarding the Kaduna Central senatorial contest.

He said, “after wide consultations and deep reflection, I have decided to respect the decision of our great party regarding the senatorial contest”.

The former  APC aspirant remarked that his decision should not be interpreted as fear or weakness, but as a demonstration of his commitment to party unity, discipline and collective progress.

“This decision is not borne out of fear, weakness, or cowardice, but rather from my unwavering commitment to party unity, discipline, and collective progress,” he added.

Shettima, a civil rights activist reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged continued support for the party at all levels ahead of the forthcoming elections.

“As a loyal and committed party man, I remain steadfast in my support for the APC and reaffirm my readiness to continue contributing my quota towards the victory of our great party,” he added.

He also called on his supporters and associates to remain peaceful and rally behind all candidates that emerge under the platform of the APC.

He further pledged his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani in ensuring that the APC wins the 2027 general elections.
