The All Progressives Congress in Adamawa state has postponed its senatorial primary election for the Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone, citing logistical difficulties and delays in the arrival of sensitive election materials.

In a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Dogo Victor, the party announced that the primary election earlier scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2027, would now hold on a later date yet to be announced.

According to the statement, the postponement was necessary to guarantee a smooth, transparent, credible, and properly coordinated exercise in line with the democratic standards of the party.

The party, however, confirmed that the senatorial primary elections for the Adamawa Northern and Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zones would proceed as scheduled on Monday.

The APC advised delegates, aspirants, and party officials in the affected zones to continue with their preparations accordingly.

The party also apologized to members, delegates, and aspirants from the Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone for any inconvenience caused by the postponement, assuring stakeholders that a new date would be announced once all necessary materials and logistics are in place.

The APC reiterated its commitment to fairness, transparency, orderliness, and the collective interest of party members across Adamawa state.
