Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of two Special Advisers, a Senior Special Assistant, and heads of key government institutions.
The governor also approved the reconstitution of the Governing Board of Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau.
Disclosing the appointments, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, said the move was aimed at strengthening government operations, improving policy coordination, and enhancing service delivery across the state.
According to the statement, Hon. Naziru Ibrahim was appointed Special Adviser on Strategy and Governance, while Nura Sani Abdullahi was elevated from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Political Matters.
Similarly, Zainab Muhammad Hassan was appointed Executive Secretary of the Zamfara Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA), while Dr. Badamasi Sarkin Kaya Maradun emerged as the new Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.
Governor Lawal also appointed Hon. Namadi Isah Kasuwar Daji as Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.
In addition, the governor reconstituted the Governing Board of Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, to ensure effective administration and smooth operations of the facility in line with the law establishing the hospital.
The board will be chaired by former Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis.
Other members include the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, the Head of Clinical Services and Training, and representatives from the Federal Medical Centre, Ministry of Health, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Also appointed to the board are Dr. Sa’ad Idris Dan Isa, Suwaiba Ibrahim, representing women’s interests, Alhaji Mujtaba Isah, a retired public servant, and two representatives of private medical practitioners. The hospital’s Director of Administration will serve as secretary of the board.
Governor Lawal congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their duties with dedication and integrity in order to drive meaningful change in their respective areas of responsibility.
