Former member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Maria Ude Nwachi, has declared her ambition to represent Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pledging to deliver impactful and people-focused representation.

Nwachi, who represented Ebonyi North-East Constituency between 2015 and 2019, said her decision to contest for the Senate was driven by her passion for service and commitment to improving the lives of her people.

The former lawmaker, popularly known as MUN, enjoys strong grassroots support, having previously emerged victorious under a relatively unknown political party during her House of Assembly election.

Speaking shortly after formally declaring her interest, the social media influencer and philanthropist said leadership must be measured by the positive impact it has on the people.

“As a community-driven person, I have all it takes to offer the people a special kind of representation in the National Assembly that will impact their lives positively,” she said.

“I possess the competence, credibility and capacity to deliver results. Leadership must be measured by its impact on the people.
“I am contesting this election to touch lives, liberate my people and unify them. I am running to restore transparency and accountability in the zone, and I cannot do it alone without the support of the people,” she added.

Nwachi also disclosed that she would soon unveil her manifesto and engage party members and constituents across the district ahead of the election.

Her entrance into the senatorial race has reportedly generated excitement among supporters and stakeholders in Ebonyi South Senatorial District, many of whom view her candidacy as an opportunity for inclusive and responsive representation.

As part of her ongoing consultations, Nwachi visited Abuja-based media consultant, Alex Nwankwo, popularly known as AlexReports, where she solicited support and prayers for her ambition.
