ADC tensions deepen as Dele Momodu moves to calm rift with Amaechi

Dele Momodu

Fresh cracks appear to be emerging within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after media personality and party chieftain Dele Momodu publicly clarified that he never intended to insult the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, amid growing tensions over comments linked to the 2027 presidential race.

Momodu’s response followed backlash from Amaechi’s camp after he advised the former Rivers governor to tone down his criticism of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during a recent political discussion.

In a conciliatory message, Momodu stressed that his remarks were not abusive but rather an appeal for restraint and maturity in political engagements, especially among opposition figures positioning themselves ahead of the next election cycle.

The exchange has further highlighted growing ideological and strategic disagreements within the ADC coalition, where key figures continue to debate zoning, consensus arrangements, and the direction of the opposition movement ahead of 2027.

Political observers say the public back-and-forth reflects the increasing pressure within opposition circles as aspirants and influential voices attempt to shape alliances capable of challenging the ruling APC in the next general election.
