President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Akwa Ibom State.
At the State Collation Centre, Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, the State Collation/Returning Officer, Pastor Umo Eno, announced the President as winner with a total of 389,197 votes.
He congratulated President Tinubu on what he described as an overwhelming victory in Akwa Ibom State and commended residents for the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state.
He also urged APC members to begin mobilising support ahead of the 2027 general elections to ensure a more decisive victory for the party.
Speaking after the declaration, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Governor Umo Eno for what he described as an unprecedented level of peace during the primaries.
He recalled past election cycles marked by violence, including reports of gunshots, intimidation, and other electoral irregularities, noting that the current process reflected significant progress.
Akpabio said Akwa Ibom has “never had it so good,” adding that support for Governor Eno’s second-term ambition is based on performance and the need to sustain peace in the state.
The APC State Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, also congratulated Akpabio and Governor Eno on their respective political achievements, describing the process as successful and orderly.
Similarly, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Prince Enobong Uwah, praised Governor Eno for ensuring a peaceful and well-coordinated primary election across the state.
