President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the Cross River presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Bassey Otu, who served as the State’s returning officer and coordinator, made the declaration in Calabar on Saturday night.

The governor gave the number of registered voters for the presidential primary in the State as 121,260 and the total vote cast to be 113,912.

Otu said that while President Tinubu scored 113,911 votes from the total vote cast, his challenger, Mr Stanley Osifo pulled zero votes.

He, however, noted that the final announcement of the overall winner of the primary would be made in Abuja.

“As you can see, our work here is done, which is to announce what we had in Cross River. We shall transmit the results to Abuja, where it will be computed with results gotten from other states.

“We are pleased to announce Cross River result after a hectic day. As you all know, the topography of the State delayed this coalition and subsequent announcement of this result,” he explained.

The Deputy Governor; Rt Hon Peter Odey, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon  Elvert Ayambem; members of the National Assembly, among others were present at the event.
