The management of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its Skills Development Intervention, describing the programme as transformative and instrumental in improving academic and administrative activities within the institution.
In a letter of appreciation signed by the Rector, S.A. Adewumi, and addressed to TETFund, the college said the intervention had been successfully completed and had significantly strengthened its capacity to deliver quality education through upgraded facilities, enhanced staff training and improved learning resources.
According to the institution, the intervention provided critical facilities and equipment that had remained beyond its financial reach for years, including Starlink internet infrastructure and a mini-solar power grid.
The College noted that the projects have effectively addressed longstanding electricity and connectivity challenges that previously hindered teaching, learning and administrative operations.
The management stated that the institution now enjoys stable electricity supply and reliable internet connectivity, enabling it to support modern academic and administrative engagements while creating a more vibrant learning environment for students and staff.
The College further said the availability of modern learning tools has contributed to improved academic performance and strengthened the institution’s ability to meet contemporary educational demands.
Adewumi noted that the intervention had repositioned the college to deliver practical, industry-focused training, equipping lecturers with the tools needed for effective teaching while ensuring that graduates acquire employable skills relevant to the 21st-century workforce.
Reaffirming its commitment to accountability, the institution pledged to continue making prudent use of TETFund intervention funds to sustain the gains already achieved and extend the benefits to more students and staff.
The Guardian reports that TETFund’s Skills Development Intervention is part of the Fund’s broader mandate to rehabilitate, restore and consolidate tertiary education in Nigeria through strategic funding of infrastructure, capacity building and academic development projects.
