Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has said no child will be left out of the state developmental agenda including equal access to education, healthcare and social protection.
Governor Yusuf gave the assurance in a message to the 2026 International Children’s Day, celebration held on Saturday at Government House Kano.
Yusuf, who was represented by the deputy Governor Alh. Murtala Sule Garo, emphasized his administration’s commitment to create equal opportunities to every child to attain full potential in life, irrespective of social status.
Garo said “Every child, regardless of gender, disability, socioeconomic background, religion or geographical location, deserves the opportunity to thrive and realize he or her full potential in Kano”.
According to him, Kano state government recognized that Children remains the foundation of sustainable development and the custodians of tomorrow’s leadership.
He added that his administration is rather committed to implementing policies and programs that ensure no child is left uncharted with basic necessity of life.
Garo stated, “We continue to invest in education, strengthen child protection mechanisms, improve healthcare services, and create an environment where every child can learn, thrive, and realize their full potential.
“We are particularly committed to supporting vulnerable children, including children with disabilities, out-of-school children, and those facing various forms of disadvantage.
“Through collaboration with communities, civil society organizations, traditional institutions, and development partners, we are working to remove barriers that hinder children’s participation and development”. Garo added.
The Governor encouraged children to dream big and work hard towards attaining their desires in life just as he urged them to embrace the values of honesty, respect, and patriotism in all endeavors.
Garo, however, urged parents, guardians, teachers, and stakeholders to continue to nurture our children with love, guidance, and opportunities that enable them to succeed.
“Together, we can build a society where every child feels valued, protected, and included. As we celebrate this special day, let us renew our collective commitment to creating a Nigeria where every child can enjoy their rights and contribute meaningfully to national development.” Garo maintained.
