Farmer jailed 15-years for concealing information on Boko Haram operations

A 55-year old farmer in Borno state, Ali Mustapha has been sentenced to 15 years without option of fine for concealing information on the dreaded activities of the Boko Haram sect in his Katara village of Borno state.

The farmer who had been in custody since 2013 was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja by the Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Justice Binta Fatimah Nyako accordingly convinced and sentenced him to 15 years without option of a fine.

The Judge said he took judicial notice of the plea of the convict that there were no government officials or security agencies to report to being an obscure and remote village in Borno state.

Justice Binta Fatimah Nyako accordingly ordered that the 15 year jail term should commence from 2013 when the convict was arrested and hauled into detention,
