2027: UK TinubuDatiwa group pledges resources, votes to secure Ondo for Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The United Kingdom branch of the TinubuDatiwa Support Group has vowed to mobilise both resources and voters to secure what it described as a resounding victory for President Bola Tinubu in Ondo State during the 2027 general elections.

The commitment was made during a meeting between the group’s leadership and the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, in Central London, on the weekend.

According to Ajanaku in a statement, the move signalled the diaspora wing’s entry into early campaign mobilisation for the President’s re-election bid.

Speaking at the meeting, the group’s president, Oluwatosin Balogun, expressed confidence that the massive support for Tinubu in the state would frustrate the ambitions of opposition presidential candidates.

Balogun attributed the group’s commitment to the president’s re-election to the developmental strides of the Tinubu administration in the Southwest, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Ilesa-Owo Motorway, as well as the infrastructural development initiatives of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Ondo State.

The group further pledged to return to Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections to participate in the voting process, in addition to deploying its resources towards voter mobilisation across the state.

Meanwhile, Ajanaku, commended the group for its commitment to Tinubu’s re-election and for recognising Governor Aiyedatiwa’s efforts in transforming Ondo State into an industrial hub.

The Information Commissioner disclosed that the governor had begun taking steps to secure massive votes for the President, including the appointment of four special assistants in each local government area to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and the inauguration of presidential campaign committees.

According to the commissioner, Aiyedatiwa is determined not only to retain Ondo State’s position as the state with the highest number of votes for Tinubu in the Southwest during the 2023 presidential election but also to surpass the previous record in 2027.

“The UK branch’s determination to return home and mobilise support for the President demonstrates the strength of Tinubu’s political support base in Ondo State,” Ajanaku said.

The commissioner expressed confidence that Tinubu’s re-election would attract further development to Ondo State, urging diaspora supporters to sustain their engagement with the administration’s development agenda.
