Global direct selling company, QNET has distanced itself from 46 individuals arrested in Ogun State during a joint security operation, insisting it has no affiliation or authorised business relationship with the suspects.

In a statement today, the company said it was aware of media reports indicating that the suspects allegedly claimed affiliation with QNET, but stressed that they were neither authorised representatives nor acting on its behalf.

QNET said it has, over the years, encountered cases where unauthorised individuals misuse its name, products and business model to promote fraudulent schemes, including false promises of employment, overseas migration opportunities and financial gains.

Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, said the company does not support or facilitate cross-border migration as a means of participating in its business.

“QNET does not support, facilitate, or promote cross-border migration as a means of participating in its business. We do not offer employment opportunities, migration pathways, relocation arrangements, or visa sponsorships. Any individual presenting QNET as a route to overseas opportunities is acting fraudulently and without authorisation,” he said.

The company said its operations are guided by strict global compliance standards, including a prohibition on cross-border recruitment or migration-related inducements, zero tolerance for misrepresentation of its products or business model, rejection of illegal activities, fraud and immigration violations, and adherence to applicable laws in all markets.

It added that disciplinary measures and legal action are taken against individuals found to have violated these standards.

QNET also commended the efforts of security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigerian Army, for tackling illegal activities and protecting communities from exploitation.

The company said it would continue collaborating with regulators, law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders to curb misinformation, fraud and the misuse of its brand.

According to the statement, individuals who exploit the QNET brand to deceive members of the public should be identified and prosecuted through appropriate legal channels.

QNET urged members of the public to verify information about its products, services and business model through its official communication channels, reiterating its commitment to transparency, consumer protection, ethical business practices and responsible entrepreneurship.
