Cleric congratulates Oyebanji on re-election, urges inclusive governance

Governor Biodun Oyebanji

Osun guber: Group plots Adeleke’s defeat after Oyebanji’s victory

A renowned cleric and founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Sam Olu Alo, has urged Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, to leverage his re-election to run an inclusive government in the state.

In a statement on his behalf by his Personal Assistant, Deji Ogunbusuyi, the cleric advised Oyebanji to operate an all-inclusive administration that carries along all stakeholders, political groups and communities in the collective task of developing Ekiti State.

Alo expressed optimism that future elections across the country would follow the Ekiti State example, with further improvements by INEC.

However, a group, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHAs), has declared that its next political target is the defeat of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, following the successful re-election of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in Ekiti State.

The group said it would mobilise support for the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in a bid to unseat Adeleke on August 15, 2026.

In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Tunde Rahman, the RHA described Oyebanji’s landslide victory as an endorsement of his shared prosperity agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope programme.

Alo, who described Oyebanji’s victory as a reflection of the people’s trust in his leadership and performance, praised the people of the state for conducting themselves in a peaceful and disciplined manner throughout the electoral process.

He, therefore, urged the governor to consolidate on the achievements that earned him another mandate, noting that residents rewarded his commitment to infrastructure development, agriculture and welfare programmes with a fresh four-year term.

The group said that while it was celebrating the Ekiti triumph, attention had already shifted to Osun, where it intends to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public engagement ahead of the governorship contest.

According to the group, the achievements of the Tinubu-led administration and the APC’s growing electoral successes provide a strong foundation for the party’s campaign in Osun State.

It also commended key party leaders, including Hope Uzodimma, Uba Sani and Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, for their contributions to the APC’s victory in Ekiti State.

The group expressed confidence that the momentum from Ekiti would bolster the party’s chances in Osun as political activities gather pace ahead of the election.
