APC Women launch weekly prayers for President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu

In support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the upcoming general elections, The Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB), a women’s forum within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced plans to hold weekly intercessory prayers.

This announcement was made during the official commissioning of the TTB National Secretariat on Tuesday by the National Women Leader of the party, Dr. Mary Idele, and was graced by the Minister of Women Affairs on behalf of the First Lady.

She said the prayer sessions will be led by ordained female ministers (OFM), Royal Sisters, prayer networks, and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA), and emphasized that these prayers are essential as the President requires spiritual guidance during this crucial period.

“Distinguished guests, one of the key activities that will take place at this Secretariat is the organisation of weekly intercessory prayers for our nation and for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu throughout the campaign period and beyond,” she said.

Dr. Idele outlined the objective of the TTB, stating, “The Tinubu Torchbearers is fundamentally a grassroots mobilization vehicle established to amplify, communicate, and resonate the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration among ordinary Nigerians.”

She emphasized the importance of grassroots engagement, asserting that the people must recognize the ongoing achievements and actively participate in the vision for a better Nigeria.

In addition to hosting prayer sessions, Dr. Idele revealed plans for a Situation Room equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. This center will function as a strategic election-monitoring and coordination hub, capable of tracking developments across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.

Addressing the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, through the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Dr. Idele assured her of the TTB’s commitment to vigorous campaigning.
“Your Excellency, we are proudly shining the Torch of Renewed Hope across the grassroots. The message of the achievements, policies, and programs of the President is reaching communities, wards, local governments, and states throughout the country.”

She concluded by stating that the commissioning of the National Secretariat is both symbolic and strategic, as it will serve as the operational hub for the TTB movement nationwide, coordinating and driving activities across all levels of engagement.
