Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa

The management of D. S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun State, has refuted as “entirely false, misleading and without any factual basis” a viral press statement and video attributed to the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Babatunde Akinteye, alleging the existence of NELFUND-related fraud within the institution.

In a statement, the institution’s management said the school is founded on the principles of integrity, academic excellence, transparency, and accountability, adding that “over the years, the polytechnic has maintained a reputation for upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in all its operations and dealings.

For accountability, it invited the NANS president and other relevant stakeholders to visit the institution on a comprehensive fact-finding exercise, including a forensic audit of all NELFUND-related records and transactions.

Condemning the spread of unverified information that can damage the reputation of individuals and institutions, the management restated its commitment to nurturing future leaders grounded in integrity, decency, and excellence.

“As a responsible institution committed to the values of fairness, honesty and good governance, we would never engage in any act capable of undermining the laudable educational and social intervention programmes of the federal government, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund. Our commitment to due process and institutional integrity remains unwavering,” it stated.

It added that the polytechnic is equally committed to supporting the educational transformation agenda and laudable welfare initiatives of President Bola Tinubu, as well as the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

It further affirmed that the institution remains dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and excellence in the delivery of educational services as a beneficiary and stakeholder.
