Awosika, Onyechi receive lifetime honours as HFN members excel at NHEA

Members of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) recorded multiple wins at the 12th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards, with Dr Ladi Awosika and Sir Ike Onyechi receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contributions to the country’s healthcare sector.

The awards, held under the theme “Innovation, Local Manufacturing and Digital Transformation in Healthcare,” recognised outstanding individuals and organisations advancing healthcare delivery through innovation, leadership and quality service.

Awosika was honoured for his decades of leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s healthcare sector, while Onyechi, the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Pharmacy and Stores Limited, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his service and leadership in the pharmaceutical industry.

Several member organisations of HFN also emerged winners in major categories at the awards.

Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals won the Private Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year award, while R-Jolad Hospital was named Private Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year.

Cerba Lancet Nigeria emerged as Laboratory Service Provider of the Year, Bridge Clinic won the IVF Service Provider of the Year award, JNC International Limited received the Biomedical Engineering Service Company of the Year award, while Alpha Pharmacy Limited was recognised as Pharmaceutical Retail Outlet of the Year.

Other HFN member organisations also earned nominations across several categories, including Duchess International Hospital, Evercare Hospital, Lily Hospitals, Regions Healthcare Hospital, AXA Mansard Health, Bastion Health Limited HMO, Leadway Health Limited, EHA Clinics, NISA Premier Hospital, St. Nicholas Hospital, Lakeshore Cancer Centre, Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre and Specialist Hospital, Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre, Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries, Juhel Nigeria Limited and Drugstoc Limited.

Speaking at the event, President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria and Country Director of PharmAccess, Njide Ndili, congratulated the winners and nominees, saying their achievements reflected the growing contribution of the private healthcare sector to healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

She said, “The achievements of our members at this year’s NHEA reflect the remarkable work being done across Nigeria’s private healthcare sector. We congratulate every winner and nominee whose dedication to excellence, innovation and patient-centred care continues to strengthen our health system. Their accomplishments inspire the entire industry and reinforce the importance of collaboration in building a healthier Nigeria.”

Ndili also commended the organisers of the awards for sustaining a platform that recognises innovation, leadership and quality across Nigeria’s healthcare value chain.
