As part of efforts aimed at helping journalists frame true narratives and prevent misinformation, the Centre for Media and Communication Research (CMCR) School Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) in partnership with Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL) are organising a symposium on storytelling.

CMCR Director, Prof. Nelson Okorie, revealed core objective of the event is to explore how storytelling could be utilised for social empowerment and sustainable development in Africa.  

Speaking further, the don added the event would also create a platform of communication experts who are driven towards generating practical strategies to leverage storytelling for positive narrative change in the county. 

Some of the expected panel chairs include, Prof. Osakue Omoera, Dr. Timothy Onyejelem, Dr.

Obi Emelonye and Dr Segun Oke.
The event holds from July 22 to 23, 2026 at PAU main campus.
