… Signs tripartite electrification deal on clean energy

The Chairman of the Akoko North East Local Council Area of Ondo State has signed a tripartite agreement with the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) and Virtuitis Solaris Limited for the comprehensive rural electrification of the entire local government area.
The agreement, which was signed at the secretariat of the council, is designed to deliver reliable and sustainable power to both isolated and interconnected communities across the council.
The initiative, according to the council chairman, Olawale Mohammed, is expected to cover all settlements within the local government, ensuring that no community is left behind in the drive for inclusive development.
The ceremony was witnessed by a delegation from Mojec International Limited, representing Virtuitis Solaris Limited, led by Saliu Oluwasegun; traditional rulers, including Oba Saliu Akadri Momoh IV, the Olukare of Ikare, represented by the High Chief Ofua of Ilepa, Oyinmo Quarter, Ikare-Akoko; and Oba Muriana Adefemi Ajiboye, the Olugbe of Ugbe-Akoko.
Speaking at the event, the council chairman described the signing as a landmark achievement for his administration.
He noted that the project represents a major step towards delivering clean, reliable, and sustainable power to the people, which he said is vital for economic growth, job creation, quality healthcare, improved education, enhanced security, and the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises.
Mohammed emphasized that the initiative will create new opportunities for businesses, empower the youth, improve living standards, and drive sustainable socio-economic development throughout the Akoko North East local government area.
He maintained that his administration remains committed to pursuing strategic partnerships and development initiatives that will accelerate the transformation of Akoko North East.
The council boss stated, “The project will benefit both isolated and interconnected communities, ensuring that no area is left behind in our drive for inclusive development.
“Reliable electricity is vital for economic growth, job creation, quality healthcare, improved education, enhanced security, and the growth of small- and medium-scale enterprises.
