Adeboye tasks Nigerians on righteousness

The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged Nigerians to pursue greatness through righteousness, stressing that while it is God’s desire for His children to attain the highest levels of success, sustaining such heights is only possible through integrity, diligence and divine mercy.

He gave the charge, yesterday, during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service held at the RCCG National Headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, while ministering virtually from Mount Carmel Prayer Village, Ifewara, Osun State.

Adeboye, while speaking on the theme, “Above Only,” offered prayers for workers, students in tertiary and secondary institutions, as well as their families.

The cleric said humanity is broadly divided into two categories – those who are above and those beneath – noting that people at the lower rung of the society often depend on the leftovers of those occupying positions of influence.

According to him, being at the top comes with enormous advantages, including better access to opportunities, quality healthcare and improved living conditions.

He, however, cautioned that true promotion comes only from God, insisting that wealth and influence acquired through dishonest means are temporary and ultimately unsustainable.

Adeboye maintained that while divine mercy is essential for attaining the top, remaining in the position demands continuous self-improvement, hard work and an unrelenting commitment to excellence.

He further prayed for Nigerians to experience divine promotion above sorrow, sickness, poverty and every form of spiritual oppression, urging those seeking enduring elevation to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.

Also speaking, Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Administration) and Pastor in Charge of RCCG Region 1, Dele Balogun, advised students to remain disciplined, dedicated to their studies and committed to personal development while trusting God for success.

Balogun equally called on parents to take greater interest in the welfare and security of their children, particularly those in boarding schools.

He urged them to regularly assess the safety of their wards’ learning environment and withdraw them where necessary.
