“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved,” (Acts 4:12).
Apostle Peter, who said these words under the heavy unction of the Holy Ghost, stand as the ultimate boundary of human hope and the final authority on the destiny of the soul. In a world that is constantly searching for a back door into heaven, a shortcut to peace, or a substitute for righteousness, the word of God remains an immovable rock. We live in a generation that prides itself on “many ways” and “personal truths,” yet the reality of eternity is not governed by human opinion but by divine decree. There is no alternative to Jesus Christ because there is no other person in the history of the universe who could bridge the infinite gap between a Holy God and a fallen humanity. To seek another way is not just an error in judgment, but a rejection of the only lifeline thrown to a drowning world.
The fundamental reason there is no alternative to Christ lies in the nature of our condition. The Bible is clear on this, according to Romans 3:23: “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Sin is not a social mistake or a temporary lapse in character; it is a spiritual death sentence. Romans 6:23 tells us that “the wages of sin is death,” and this is a debt that no human being can pay for himself or herself, let alone for another. We see men and women, today, trying to pay this debt through the currency of “good works,” yet Isaiah 64:6 reminds us that “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” in the sight of a thrice-holy God. You cannot wash a stained soul with dirty water, and you cannot redeem a fallen life with the efforts of a fallen nature. There had to be a perfect, sinless substitute and that is a Lamb without blemish and without spot.
He has taken our place upon the altar of divine justice. Only Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, could fulfill this requirement.
When Jesus stood among His disciples and declared in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” He was not offering one option among many. He was stating an exclusive biological and spiritual reality. Just as there is no alternative to light to dispel darkness, same way there is no alternative to Christ to dispel the spiritual blindness of the human heart. Many look to philosophy, seeking to think their way into peace, but philosophy only discusses the problem while Christ provides the cure. Many look to religion, seeking to perform their way into favour, but religion is man’s attempt to reach God, whereas the Gospel is God reaching down to man.
There is only “one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). Any other mediator is a counterfeit; any other path is a dead end.
The Cross of Calvary is the final proof that no alternative exists. If there had been any other way to save humanity—if keeping the law could have done it, if animal sacrifices could have sufficed, or if human sincerity were enough—then the Father would never have allowed His Only Begotten Son to endure the agony of the Cross. The blood of Jesus is the only substance in the universe that has the power to cleanse the conscience from dead works. Hebrews 9:22 says: “And without shedding of blood is no remission.” It was not just any blood, but the precious blood of Christ that paid the ransom. When we realise the magnitude of the price paid, we understand the gravity of looking for an alternative. To suggest there is another way is to suggest that the sacrifice of Jesus was unnecessary. But God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that only the Creator could redeem the creature.
The power in the name of Jesus is unparalleled because it is the only name that carries the authority of heaven. Philippians 2:9-10 tells us that God has “given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.” There is no other name that makes demons tremble, no other name that brings instant peace to a troubled mind, and no other name that can translate a soul from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. When a sinner cries out to that name, they are not calling upon a theory; they are calling upon a Person Who is “upholding all things by the word of his power,” (Hebrews 1:3). There is no alternative to His power because His power is the very power of the Godhead.
Furthermore, the sufficiency of Christ is total. He does not need our help to save us; He only needs our surrender. We are “justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 3:24). This is the “soul-converting” power of the message: that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He does not wait for you to become an alternative version of yourself before He accepts you. He takes the broken, the shattered, the rejected, and the vile, and by His Spirit, He makes them new. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new,” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This transformation is not a renovation of the old life, but the importation of a new life—His life. No other system or belief can offer a new birth; they can only offer a new coat of paint on an old tomb.
To the one who is searching, the message is simple: stop looking for an alternative. You will find no rest for your soul in the dry wells of this world. The invitations of Christ are always personal and urgent. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I shall give you rest,” (Matthew 11:28).
Finally, we must consider the consequence of rejecting the only way. If there is no alternative to Christ for salvation, then to be without Christ is to be without hope. John 3:36 warns us: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” This is the sobering reality that fuels the urgency of the Gospel. It is not an act of intolerance to tell a man that there is only one bridge over a chasm; it is an act of supreme love. The bridge is Christ. He was bruised for our iniquities and wounded for our transgressions (Isaiah 53:5). He stood in the line of fire so that we could stand in the hall of grace.
There is no alternative to Jesus Christ because He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Bread of Life that satisfies the hungry, the Living Water that quenches the thirsty, and the Light of the World that guides the lost. He is the Advocate Who pleads our case and the King Who is coming again to rule in righteousness.
Whether you are at the height of success or the depth of failure, your need for Him remains the same. Trust in Him today with all your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding or the shifting opinions of society. Anchor your soul in the truth of Acts 4:12. There is no other name. There is no other way. There is no other Saviour. Jesus Christ is not a better way; He is the Only way!
Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
‘15 Years Of Chronic Pile Healed’
My name is Moses Sodipo. I am from Ogun State, but I reside at Alaba, international market, Lagos. I joined The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries this year. After joining the church, God showed me many things to prove that He is the owner of The Lord’s Chosen.
I recently relocated to my house in Alaba so that I will live closer to the church. Before now, l did not know that a particular tenant was the brain behind my not relocating to my house after it’s completion. He had been bragging that he came from a particular place in the South East, and feels that he can live in the house without paying his rent. The man, who has 10 children has been a thorn on my flesh, but last Thursday, as l was coming home, he saw me and began to shout fire, fire, and ran away.
In fact, God of Chosen is so great that He drove the troublesome tenant away from my house after he bragged that he would live for a donkey’s years without paying a kobo. Oh, l thank God so much.
Another testimony is how I joined The Lord’s Chosen. It was one fateful Friday, l was coming back from a prayer meeting and l saw people in a crusade in that area and when I looked at the cable, l saw the G.O. of this ministry preaching and God said to me this is the man I have been telling you about. Without wasting time I joined them in that regional crusade, and after the crusade, I demanded to see the pastor of that branch. It was after seeing him that I came to the headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos, and to the glory of God, l have been experiencing real peace in my heart. To crown it all, God of Chosen healed me of an age-long pile (hemorrhoid) that afflicted my life for 15 years. Praise, the Lord!
I pray for our G.O. and all Chosen members worldwide; heaven at last in Jesus’ name…Amen!
