Administration’s reforms laying foundation for greater future, says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his administration’s promises to Nigerians, declaring that he would never betray the confidence reposed in him, insisting that the ongoing economic reforms are laying the foundation for a more prosperous future.

The President made the declaration yesterday in a message delivered on his behalf by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, at the inauguration of the Executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja, a grassroots political mobilisation platform aimed at promoting the Renewed Hope agenda nationwide.

Addressing supporters, political leaders, traditional rulers, civil society organisations and other stakeholders at the event, Tinubu said his administration remains focused on building a stronger nation despite the difficult decisions it has made since assuming office.

The President said: “I am delighted to be here, to see what Nigerians are doing from their heart for the development of the nation. I can see people interested in the future of the country.

“I am determined never to betray the trust of Nigerians, and the vision of ensuring a better Nigeria.”

Tinubu urged members of the movement to embark on sustained grassroots engagement by taking his administration’s message directly to Nigerians, stressing that democracy thrives through continuous interaction with the people.

“Every great nation is driven by one citizen at a time, and one door at a time. Before victories at the ballot boxes, there are confrontations at every door,” he said.

He charged supporters to explain the benefits of government policies to citizens, saying: “Go to these doors and tell them about the dividends of good governance after they vote. That is how democracy endures.”

The President acknowledged that the reforms introduced by his administration required sacrifices from Nigerians but maintained that such measures are necessary to secure long-term national prosperity.

According to him, nations attain greatness not by avoiding difficult moments but by confronting them with courage and patriotism.

“The purpose of reforms is not to make life difficult for citizens but to lay the foundation that future generations can build on. Lasting progress is rarely achieved without enduring sacrifice,” he stated.

Tinubu also stressed that effective governance requires collaboration among all stakeholders, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved when the executive, legislature and citizens work together.
