I remain committed to Nigeria despite relocating, says Chibueze

Nigerian tech entrepreneur and founder of RepairBirds, Fidelis Chibueze, has explained that his decision to relocate to the United States was motivated by a desire for global exposure and professional development rather than an attempt to leave Nigeria behind.

Speaking on his entrepreneurial journey, Chibueze said the move was a strategic step aimed at acquiring advanced skills, expanding his knowledge, and positioning himself to compete on the global stage.

According to him, lifelong learning remains a key driver of his career, adding that exposure to international markets and innovation ecosystems has broadened his perspective and strengthened his capacity to build impactful technology solutions.

Chibueze dismissed suggestions that his relocation was an escape from Nigeria’s economic and business challenges, insisting that he remains deeply optimistic about the country’s future and its immense potential for technological growth.

The RepairBirds founder acknowledged that building a startup in Nigeria comes with significant hurdles but maintained that such obstacles should inspire innovation rather than discourage entrepreneurs.

He stressed that his focus has always been on solving real-world problems and challenging broken systems instead of dwelling on the limitations of the environment.

“Nigeria still holds enormous opportunities for innovators who are willing to create solutions,” he said, noting that resilience and adaptability are qualities that continue to distinguish Nigerian entrepreneurs on the global stage.

Chibueze added that his international experience has not diminished his commitment to Nigeria but has instead equipped him with broader insights and skills that can contribute to the country’s growing technology ecosystem.

He reiterated that meaningful progress is achieved by embracing continuous learning, seeking global exposure, and applying acquired knowledge to develop solutions capable of transforming lives and industries.
