Ramon, Boniface, 17 others enter four-week intensive high-performance camp

El Kanemi Warriors defeated Ikorodu City to win the 2026 President Federation Cup in Asaba, at the weekend.

Ali Rahmon and Kenneth Boniface are among 19 players currently in a Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) high-performance camp preparing for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Division 2 Qualifier, scheduled to hold in Rwanda from August 7 to 16, 2026.

According to the NCF, at the four-week intensive High-Performance Camp, the Junior YellowGreens will undergo a structured programme designed to sharpen their technical abilities, improve physical conditioning, define playing roles, and simulate competitive match scenarios before the final squad is selected.

The NCF said that the camp has been carefully designed in phases, with batting, bowling and fielding sessions with strength and conditioning, tactical simulations, recovery protocols, practice games, and performance evaluations to ensure the players arrive in Rwanda fully prepared for the demands of international cricket.

The NCF said that the final 14-man squad that will represent Nigeria at the qualifier will be announced at the conclusion of the camp.

It added that the camp is aimed at preparing the country to move from the Division 2 Qualifier to Division 1 and continue its tradition of producing competitive youth teams on the continental stage.

Apart from Rahmon and Boniface, other players in the camp are Hossana Omonkhobhio, Abdullahi Ismail, Okasha Isiyaku, Progress Osagie, Ejiofor Chimezie, Emmanuel Oladejo, Ayodele Daniel, Peculiar Egemesi, Balogun Daniel and Pelumi Orimolade.
