WeTalkSound and Spotify bring Asake’s M$ney album to life with Insert Nights: M$ney Edition

Creative company partners with global streaming giant for an immersive activation built around quiet luxury, curated experiences, and a closing DJ set that stole the night.

To mark the release of Asake’s most ambitious project to date, Spotify partnered with 360 creative company WeTalkSound to stage Insert Nights: M$ney Edition, an immersive activation that reimagined what an album rollout can look like.

Rather than a standard listening party, the event was built as a full sensory extension of M$ney, with every detail, from set design to programming, drawn from the album’s “quiet luxury” aesthetic.
Guests arrived to a night already underway. Ahead of the main programming, attendees were welcomed with a curated wine tasting and a life-sized word search installation built from language pulled directly from the album. A mini golf course and a pottery station rounded out the early evening, giving guests space to engage with the experience before the music took centre stage.

The night’s musical programming opened with a set from Bunmithedj, which included a blend of Asake’s “Olorun” into Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana” that became a defining moment of the evening. Sets from Peejaay and Farati followed, building steadily, before Nino and Axara delivered a back-to-back set centred entirely on Asake’s catalogue. Simss closed out the night.

“We wanted this to feel like stepping inside the world of the album, not just hearing it,” said Dunsin Bankole, CoFounder at WeTalkSound. “Every element of the night, down to the textures in the room, was intentional, Asake is an artist who pays close attention to detail, so we wanted to honour that by creating something that genuinely felt like M$NEY.”

Insert Nights: M$ney Edition drew a guest list of industry executives, tastemakers, and influencers, reinforcing WeTalkSound’s reputation for producing some of Lagos’s most closely watched cultural moments.

It means a lot to us to collaborate with Spotify – one of our favorite brands and Asake – one of our favorite artists to create this experience for fans.
