Lagos Mainland organises chorale concert to commemorate Synod

As the Lagos Mainland Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), holds its opening service of the second session of the seventh Synod, titled, “Thus Far Has The Lord Helped Us,” taken from 1Samuel 7:12, on August 20, 2026, with opening ceremony on August 21, 2026, at All Saints Church, Yaba, Lagos, the church, last Sunday, organiseda chorale concert at the Cathedral Church of St. Jude in Ebute-Meta, Lagos to mark the forthcoming Synod.

About 16 choirs from the Arch deaconries, including the Diocesan Choir, which also clocked 20 years, rendered their songs at the event. The Diocesan Music Director, Sir Emeka Nwokedi conducted the chorale.

Bishop, Lagos Mainland, Rt. Rev’d. Akinpelu Johnson and his wife, Mama Mainland, MrsOlabo Johnson graced the event.

Also, Major-General TilewaAmusu (rtd); Chair Fundraising/ Registrar, Lady ChikwueOchiagha; Justice Yinka Faji; Mrs Abosede Faji, amongothers added colours to the event.

The church also used the occasion to cut the anniversary cake.
