The General Superintendent of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has condemned the persistent killings across Nigeria, accusing the Federal government of failing to take decisive action against the worsening insecurity while declaring that divine judgment would overtake those responsible for the violence.

Speaking during a sermon, Bishop David Oyedepo expressed outrage over the continued bloodshed, saying he could not pray for those responsible for the killings.

“You can’t slaughter members of my family and want me to pray for you. I pray against you, against your household, against your generation, in the name of Jesus,” he declared.

The cleric alleged that those carrying out the attacks were being sponsored, insisting that the sponsors were known.

“Everybody knows that these wicked people are being sponsored. Anyone who doesn’t know that has a problem. Every sponsor of killers in Nigeria, you come under a curse today. The curse of the Lord hits you today,” he said.

Oyedepo also criticised what he described as the government’s silence over the attacks, lamenting that the authorities appeared unwilling or unable to address the security crisis.

“Do you know how they kill people every day and government is pretending not to know what to do? I’ve kept quiet. When you see God keep quiet at wickedness, it’s because the bubble is about to burst,” he said.

Quoting scripture to reinforce his message, the bishop said God had delayed judgment but would soon intervene against those behind the violence.

“I’ve long time held my peace, God said, but now I’ll rise like a wounded lion and I’ll devour at once,” he said, adding, “When you see God keep quiet at the wickedness of the wicked, it’s because the bubble is about to burst. This bubble will burst.”

The preacher further questioned what he described as the government’s failure to publicly condemn the killings.

“I’ve not had any statement from government quarters against the killings. I’m yet to hear one. Are human lives not of value anymore?” he asked.

Oyedepo also criticised what he described as misplaced priorities by the authorities, questioning restrictions on public preaching while violent attacks continue across the country.

“And now you mustn’t preach in the bus, is that an issue? My God, do you think we’re dummies?” he said.

Concluding his message, the bishop said he was convinced that those sponsoring or enabling the killings would ultimately face divine judgment.

“God has assured me that the bubble will burst,” he said, maintaining that everyone behind the violence would be held accountable.
