Group backs grassroots drive, urges Oyebanji–Oluyede alliance for Tinubu

Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA)

…Says OPARHA offers new opportunity for Ekiti Progressives to close ranks

The Ekiti Coalition for Democratic Accountability and Good Governance (ECDAGG) has welcomed the decision by Dr. Oluwole Oluyede to launch the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), describing it as a timely grassroots mobilisation initiative capable of strengthening support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.

The coalition said the initiative presents a fresh opportunity for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, the Oluyede Movement and other progressive support groups to work together in advancing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the state.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Adebayo Olalekan, ECDAGG said the establishment of OPARHA reflects Dr. Oluyede’s commitment to grassroots political engagement and should be embraced as a platform that complements ongoing efforts to mobilise support for the President.

According to the coalition, the initiative should not be viewed through the lens of political rivalry but rather as an opportunity to deepen cooperation among progressive stakeholders committed to the development of Ekiti State and the success of President Tinubu’s administration.

The group recalled that it had previously advocated a broad-based alliance involving Governor Oyebanji, the Ekiti APC, the Oluyede Movement and other progressive organisations, stressing that the emergence of OPARHA has further strengthened the case for such collaboration.

“ECDAGG believes this is the appropriate time for progressive leaders in Ekiti State to close ranks in the overall interest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The launch of OPARHA should serve as a rallying point for constructive engagement and greater unity among all supporters of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement said.

The coalition noted that Governor Oyebanji has continued to provide leadership in the governance and development of Ekiti State, while Dr. Oluyede has demonstrated an increasing commitment to grassroots mobilisation through OPARHA.

It said bringing both leaders and their respective political structures into closer collaboration would create a stronger, broader and more inclusive political movement capable of mobilising support across the state’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards ahead of the 2027 general election.

ECDAGG further urged members of the APC, the Oluyede Movement, OPARHA and other progressive support groups to embrace dialogue, mutual respect and strategic cooperation instead of political rivalry.

The coalition maintained that a united progressive front would not only strengthen President Tinubu’s re-election prospects in Ekiti but also promote political stability, deepen grassroots participation and accelerate the state’s development.

It therefore appealed to all stakeholders to place the collective interest of Ekiti State and Nigeria above personal or political differences, expressing confidence that, through unity, collaboration and effective mobilisation, Ekiti would remain one of the strongest pillars of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to promoting democratic accountability, good governance and constructive political engagement, pledging to continue supporting initiatives that foster unity, peace and sustainable development in Ekiti State.
