The Christian Widows and Widowers Empowerment Initiative (CWWE) has held its annual thanksgiving service at Trinity House under the theme “ Compassionate God” bringing together widows, widowers, supporters and guests in a celebration of God’s faithfulness, hope and compassion.

Speaking at the event, the Founder and Convener of CWWE, Pastor Mrs. Beatrice Yusufu, said the annual thanksgiving was organised to appreciate God for preserving the lives of members and their children despite the loss of their spouses.

She noted that the gathering also served as an opportunity to thank God for His continuous faithfulness to the organisation and its members over the years.

In his exhortation, the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, commended Yusufu for her unwavering commitment to widows and widowers through the CWWE. He praised her passion, accountability and tireless efforts, noting her frequent travels across the country to support members and expand the initiative’s impact.

He encouraged participants to trust God’s plan even when life takes unexpected turns, reminding them that every season of life is under God’s control. Quoting Jeremiah 29:11, he urged members not to give in to fear, discouragement or depression, assuring them that God’s thoughts toward His children are of peace, hope and a glorious future.

He also encouraged everyone to cherish each day, trust God wholeheartedly and remain steadfast in faith. Beyond the spiritual upliftment, the thanksgiving service also reflected CWWE’s commitment to supporting its members materially.

Every registered member received food items, towels and other gift packages, while all attendees were treated to a sumptuous meal, making the celebration both spiritually enriching and socially impactful.

The annual thanksgiving ended with prayers, fellowship and renewed hope, as members expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and looked forward to another year of strength, encouragement and shared purpose.
